Why agentic machine-readability matters

01 / Raw HTML Over Hydration

Autonomous buyer agents (Google Universal Cart, ChatGPT Operator) do not execute heavy client-side JavaScript when scraping catalogs. If pricing, variants, and policies are rendered via React hydration, agents read blank offers and abandon the transaction.

02 / The SLA Requirement

Machine buyers execute fiduciary purchases on behalf of users. When explicit return windows (merchantReturnDays) or shipping rates (shippingDetails) are missing, agents cannot guarantee total cost, triggering an immediate checkout failure.

03 / The 2026 UCP Standard
